ELK CREEK — The Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a gravestone dedication on June 7 at 11 a.m. at the Fielder Family Cemetery (aka Knob Fork Cemetery) in Grayson County.

The ceremony will recognize John Fielder, who played an important part in the American Revolution and served in the Virginia General Assembly, according to DAR.

Fielder his brother Dennis, both veterans of the Revolutionary War, came to Grayson in 1791, settling in the Fallville area. John Fielder’s daughter married into the local Vaughan family.

The cemetery is at 4506 Spring Valley Road in Elk Creek. Go up a gravel drive and you will see the cemetery down to the left in a grassy field, according to DAR.
